The Borders holds some of the finest golf courses in the UK, with an array of parkland and links style course set in the rolling countryside at gateway to the home of golf.

The forty golf clubs in Buckinghamshire are affiliated to the Berks Bucks & Oxon Union of Golf Clubs and this body was founded in 1924, comprising 11 clubs from Berkshire, 12 from Buckinghamshire and 7 from Oxfordshire. Today, the total number of clubs in membership of the Union has more than quadrupled from the original 30 to 122.

Although one of the smallest golfing counties in England, the Jurassic country offers an abundance of high quality coastal and parkland courses.

There is an abundance of courses in Kent so there's plenty of choice when it comes to playing the 'garden of England'.

Forming pat of England's 'golf coast' Lancashire holds over 140 courses, included within these are Open Championship venues Royal Birkdale and Royal Lytham & St. Annes

A number of golf clubs operated in the county around the start of the 20th century but it took until 1924 before a district union was formed. Although eight of the 26 clubs attending the inaugural committee meeting of the Middlesex County Golf Union no longer exist, there are now 36 clubs in membership, ten of which play on public courses.

The eyes of the golfing world turned to South Wales in 2010 when the fabulous Celtic Manor Resort played host to the Ryder Cup. 
Visitors to the area are simply spoiled for choice, as is clearly illustrated by the fact that in and immediately around Cardiff alone there are no less than 18 courses.
